On Saturday May 9th in Leesburg Virginia at Combat in the Cage 4th Offense, Ground Control had two fighters in Action. Combat in the Cage's Middleweight Champion Dave Daniecki made is first title defense. And coming off of his mma debut, Marty Kusick stepped back in the cage in hopes to improve to 2-0.
Middleweight David Daniecki VS Perrin Carter Winner: David Daniecki by submission, Kimura, at 2:53 of round 1. ACTION: The hands started flying, eventually the two went to the mat, and David ended up in side control. David attempted a deep and very secure kimura that looked like the end of the round. Perrin withstood the attack but was still being controlled Daves side control. Perrin came to his feet and attempted a takedown but his attempt was stopped. David, once again, gained side control and secured a kimura that ended the bout by tapout.
Featherweight Marty Kusick Vs. Bret Thomas
Winner: Marty Kuscik, by submission, :45, Rd 1
Action: Crowd favorite, Marty Kusick entered the cage with over 150 Ground Control supporters in atendence. After virtually no "feeling out" process, Kuscik shot in with a textbook double leg takedown, hoisted Thomas over his head, and came out the back door. Utilizing good posture, Marty opened his oppenents legs and dropped into a reverse heel hook for the tap.
